The Yellowknife Ice 18U girls volleyball team wrapped up an unforgettable weekend at the 2025 Alberta Volleyball Provincials, held in Edmonton from April 11 to 14. While the results on the scoreboard didn’t reflect the outcome the team had hoped for, the players delivered a performance full of heart, hard work, and growth.

Facing strong competition from across the province, the Yellowknife Ice met every challenge head-on. The team played with intensity, supported one another on and off the court, and showed remarkable progress as a unit. Throughout the tournament, they demonstrated the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination.

One of the most significant takeaways from the tournament was how the players learned to rely on each other and grow together. Every set played strengthened their bond and deepened their understanding of what it means to work as a team. Their ability to adapt, stay positive, and continue pushing forward stood out throughout the weekend.

Though the final standings may not have gone in their favor, the Ice proudly represented their club, their city, and the North. Their dedication and composure earned respect from other teams, coaches, and spectators alike.

The Yellowknife Ice 18U girls extend sincere thanks to the parents, coaches, supporters, who made this journey possible. Competing at this level is no small achievement, and the experience gained will undoubtedly serve the players well at the upcoming Nationals.

As they return home, the team does so with pride in how they represented themselves and their community—proving that success isn’t just measured in wins, but in growth, effort, and the strength of the team.
